City Administrator Dane C. Nelson
Dane Nelson was selected to be the City Administrator of Adrian in March of 2006. He had been employed by the city as its City Attorney since 1980 and was in private legal practice since 1974.
Dane has been a resident of Adrian since 1950 and is a graduate of Adrian High School. He attained his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1971 in business administration and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Toledo in 1974.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Lenawee and the Lenawee County Economic Development Corporation. He is a member of the Adrian Rotary Club and previously was a member of its Board of Directors and the Adrian Rotary Foundation, in addition to many other civic involvements.
Dane is a member of the International City Managers Association and the Michigan Local Government Management Association.
He lives in Adrian with his wife Kristin and has 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren.
