Oakwood Cemetery is an outstanding Victorian Era cemetery, with its park like setting, wooded pathways and variety of monuments.  

Local citizens, including Adrian founder Addison Comstock, created Oakwood Cemetery in 1848. Originally 22 acres, by 1968 the cemetery had grown to 120.

On December 3, 1998, the Michigan Historical Society designated Oakwood Cemetery as a Historic Site, following their 150th Celebration.

The oldest part of Oakwood Cemetery is from the receiving vault to the front entrance, which contains Soldier’s Field.
